Hi! I'm Nour, a PhD Candidate in McGill's Integrated Program in Neuroscience, co-supervised by Blake Richards and Adrien Peyrache. I did my undergrad in Electrical and Computer Engineering at the American University of Beirut, which gave me a strong foundation for computational and systems neuroscience.
I'm fascinated by how the brain builds and maintains maps of the world and reconstructs them in dreams. My research focuses on the retrosplenial cortex, using computational modeling and longitudinal in vivo recordings in freely moving rats to understand how spatial representations are organized, and how they transform during spatial navigation tasks and sleep.
Outside the lab, I love exploring the intersection of science and art (currently VP of the Convergence Initiative and TAing the Convergence Course). When I'm not coding or running experiments, I'm usually making vocals for electronic music, dancing, painting, or making really elaborate slide designs using PowerPoint animations.
