Le Thuy Duong Nguyen
Hi! I’m Thuy, a fourth-year Honours Cognitive Science undergraduate student at McGill University. I'm passionate about open science, interdisciplinary research, and the intersection of AI and neuroscience for social good. I'm currently working with Dane Malenfant on developing benchmarks for the emergence of reciprocal pro-social behaviour in reinforcement learning agents, inspired by traditional Indigenous cultural concepts.
Previously, I worked under the supervision of Dr. Sylvain Baillet on a user-friendly implementation for structural and functional interpretation of brain annotations, aimed at eliminating barriers of entry for researchers. I also completed the 2024 AI4Good Lab program, where my team and I won the Accelerator Award for our project, unbIAsed.Rx, which leverages machine learning to address sex disparities in pharmaceuticals.
When I'm not studying, I promote responsible AI and AI literacy with Encode Justice Canada, serve as Co-President of the Student Association of Cognitive Science, and unite passionate undergraduate students from Montreal’s leading universities as Chair of the Cognitive Science Undergraduate Research Forum (CogSURF).
